Liana Kinnen / Resident Artist

There was never any question that I’d follow a create path - I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil! art was a constant throughout school, but everything changed the summer I began a tattoo apprenticeship. What started as a curiosity quickly became a lifelong calling. 13 years later, tattooing has taken me on an incredible journey of growth, collaboration and self expression.

Since I started my apprenticeship in 2012, I’ve watched the industry evolve in extra ordinary ways. Innovations in technology have unlocked new creative possibilities, allowing for more intricate detail, refined techniques and bold experimentation. One of my favourite parts of the process is working with other artists, bouncing ideas off one another, learning and inspiring in return.

Atelier was born from a long standing dream: to build a welcoming, collaborative space where creativity flows freely. After co-owning a studio in Chester for 3 years, 2024 felt like the perfect time to return to my roots in North Wales and shape something that felt completely my own.

While I specialise in realism, I’m extremely passionate about the avant-garde - a style that allows me to break the rules, challenge conventions, and create work that feels bold, unexpected and truly original. I thrive on designing pieces that push boundaries and offer something entirely unique, always aiming to innovate with every tattoo.

Rosie Wilson / Junior Artist

Rosie is an artist with over 16 years’ experience in creative roles, including illustration, cartography, graphic design, and tattooing. After graduating with a degree in Graphic Illustration from Liverpool John Moores University in 2012, she began her tattoo apprenticeship, working in a variety of styles with a particular focus on black and grey realism. She tattooed until 2014 before moving out of the area and returning to freelancing. Now settled back in her home of North Wales, Rosie is excited to return to one of her greatest passions – tattooing.

She enjoys working in black and grey, with a strong emphasis on detail, design, and visual interest. Rosie has a deep love for the natural world – flora and fauna, insects, plants, birds, and sea life. The weird and wonderful creatures of our planet are a constant source of inspiration. She delights in exploring nature, noticing the small pockets of detail – delicate flowers, berries, fallen leaves, and organic forms – that inspire beautiful and intricate tattoo designs.

Rosie also has a passion for imagined worlds, with sci-fi, fantasy, and horror themes bringing her great joy to tattoo and sparking engaging conversations. She is equally drawn to historical and nautical subjects, traditional symbols, medieval motifs, wood carvings, and statues – all themes that lend themselves perfectly to the depth and texture of black and grey tattooing.

Inky Bones is a junior tattoo artist specialising in illustrative blackwork. She began her tattoo journey in 2023, completing her apprenticeship in2025, while developing a distinctive style rooted in a love of texture and character-driven design. Before tattooing, she spent almost  a decade as a freelance illustrator, specialising in children’s books, contributing artwork to more than fifty titles.

Deeply inspired by the natural world and her Welsh heritage, her work often draws from local folklore, mythology, and the eerie beauty of rural landscapes. She blends the mystical with the macabre, creating tattoos that feel both timeless and otherworldly.

Emma is also building a growing following for her Forever Creeps, a series of eerie-yet-endearing creatures that sit somewhere between spooky and sweet. These whimsical oddities have become a signature part of her flash, perfect for clients who love tattoos with personality, storytelling, and a slightly strange charm.

Stepping into her career as a qualified junior artist, she is excited to continue exploring imaginative worlds, organic forms, and the soft creepiness that defines her work.

Haf is our apprentice that started with us in 2026. Haf graduated from university with a first class honours degree in business and went into an office job in marketing and communications in the tech industry. Following the birth of her third baby, she began body piercing and decided to make the leap into tattooing. Haf’s heart lies within a neo traditional cartoon style of tattooing. She finds a huge amount of inspiration from old VHS tapes, DVDs and comics. Haf has a passion for everything bold, colourful, and full of life, and that passion shines through in her work. Her art is vibrant, playful, and unapologetically expressive - just like her personality. During your appointment with Haf, you can expect plenty of laughs, and a warm atmosphere to make you feel at ease.
