It's generally recommended to avoid the gym immediately after getting a tattoo. Most tattoo artists advise waiting at least 48-72 hours before engaging in strenuous physical activity, and potentially longer depending on the tattoo's size and location. This is because new tattoos are essentially open wounds and need time to heal. Excessive sweating and friction from exercise can disrupt the healing process and increase the risk of infection.

It is generally not recommended to go swimming immediately after getting a tattoo, as it can increase the risk of infection and damage the tattoo. A new tattoo is essentially an open wound and needs time to heal before being submerged in water. It's best to wait at least 2-4 weeks, or until the tattoo is fully healed, before swimming.
